🟦Rapidus Partners with Canadian Startup Tenstorrent to develop AI semiconductors

 Rapidus has entered into a partnership with a Canadian start-up for the development of AI semiconductors. The two companies have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for a business alliance in Silicon Valley, USA.

 Tenstorrent is dedicated to designing and developing AI-specific CPUs and chiplets using RISC-V, an open-source technology. The plan is to supply AI semiconductors for various applications, including data centers and automobiles. Rapidus anticipates that TenTorrent will be its inaugural customer.

🟦Collaborating on the development of AI semiconductors.

 Rapidus is a company with the goal of mass-producing cutting-edge semiconductors in Hokkaido, while Tenstrictent specializes in designing and developing computers for AI. The two companies plan to enter the market for edge devices compatible with the digital society through collaboration on semiconductor IP, aiming to accelerate the development of AI semiconductors.

 Rapidus intends to commence mass production of 2nm logic semiconductors at IIM-1 in Hokkaido by 2027. This will be achieved through international collaborations with IBM and imec, as well as cooperation with domestic and overseas materials and equipment industries.
