🟦 Socionext Collaborates with Arm and TSMC to Develop 32-Core CPU Chip in 2nm Process
Socionext announced that it will collaborate with Arm and TSMC to develop a 32-core CPU chiplet using 2nm process technology. The new chiplets will be used in large-scale data centers, 5/6G infrastructure, DPUs, and network edge markets.
🟦 Combining multiple semiconductors with “chiplets”
Socionext is participating in this project to optimize both performance and cost-efficiency. The new technologies aim to deliver scalable performance across a range of applications.
The new CPU employs chiplet technology, which combines multiple semiconductors to enhance data processing power per unit area. For instance, in data centers, this new chip could offer both high performance and efficient computational processing through the use of chiplet technology.
🟦Summary
Socionext announced that it will collaborate with Arm and TSMC to develop high-performance 32-core CPU chiplets for the next-generation large-scale data center and network edge markets.
It’s beneficial to create a Proof of Concept (PoC) for a cutting-edge CPU chiplet. Beyond that, I would like to see the project eventually advance to mass production.
