Intel announced on its official Twitter account that it has acquired Finland’s SiruInnovations to further enhance its GPU technology capabilities. SiruInnovations, led by CEO MikkoAlho, will be integrated into Intel’s Accelerated Computing Systems and Graphics (AXG) division.

SiruInnovations was founded in 2011 by former AMD and Qualcomm engineers. Co-founder is MikaTuomi, who founded Bitboys in 1991. He was also a member of FutureCrew in the 1980s and 1990s. From high-level APIs (Vulkan, OpenGL, DirectX) to GPU architecture, we have established ourselves as experts and development experts.

Intel is stepping up the development of discrete GPUs. Like nVIDIA’s GeForce and AMD’s Radeon brand, Intel has launched the “Arc” brand. The first product of Intel’s discrete GPU “Intel Arc” The Alchemist was manufactured on TSMC’s 6nm process.
