Japan, the U.S. and the Republic of Korea (ROK) have agreed to cooperate on the following three pillars to strengthen supply chains of important emerging technologies (semiconductors, storage batteries, etc.).

- Strengthening Coordination in Export Control of Advanced Technology

- We will avoid excessive dependence on China and ensure a stable supply of critical minerals such as gallium, germanium, and graphite.

The pillars of the agreement are to avoid supply chain vulnerabilities due to over-reliance on specific countries with China in mind, to ensure access to critical emerging technologies, and to strengthen cooperation in the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework (IPEF). In the future, the three countries will further promote consultations and information sharing among the relevant ministries and agencies with a view to formulating a concrete action plan.
