Top 15 Semiconductor Equipment Companies in 2025: ASML, Applied Materials and TEL

The semiconductor equipment market expanded in 2025 as investment increased in leading-edge logic for AI, memory including HBM, and advanced packaging. According to SEMI, worldwide semiconductor manufacturing equipment sales reached $135.1 billion, up 15% year over year.

This article presents the top 15 wafer fabrication equipment (WFE) suppliers by 2025 revenue, based on TechInsights research. ASML ranked first, and eight Japanese companies—including Tokyo Electron, SCREEN and Hitachi High-Tech—made the list.

TechInsights estimates that the WFE market reached $118.9 billion in 2025, up 11%. This ranking covers revenue from front-end wafer-processing equipment.

ASML ranks first with .5 billion

ASML’s WFE revenue was about $27.5 billion, up 16.8%. In addition to EUV lithography systems essential for leading-edge scaling, High-NA EUV began contributing to sales. ASML’s total 2025 revenue was €32.7 billion, up 15.6%.

Applied Materials is No. 2 and Lam Research No. 3

Applied Materials retained second place at about $21.0 billion, although revenue fell 1.9%. Lam Research grew 27.7%. As HBM and 3D NAND add more layers, deposition and etch steps become increasingly important.

Tokyo Electron ranks fourth and KLA fifth

Tokyo Electron covers a broad range of front-end processes, including coating/developing, deposition, etch and cleaning. KLA is strong in defect inspection, metrology and yield management, where demand rises as scaling and advanced packaging become more complex.

NAURA and AMEC enter the top 10

China’s NAURA, ranked sixth, grew 33.3%, while No. 10 AMEC grew 39.3%. Domestic capital spending and the localization of manufacturing equipment supported both companies. The top five remained unchanged, but Chinese suppliers expanded rapidly.

Eight Japanese companies make the top 15

The Japanese companies are Tokyo Electron, SCREEN, Hitachi High-Tech, Daifuku, Ebara, Canon, Murata Machinery and Kokusai Electric. Alongside Tokyo Electron’s broad portfolio, many specialize in strategically important processes such as cleaning, metrology, material handling, CMP, lithography and batch deposition.

Why Advantest and Teradyne are not included

This top 15 covers WFE used to process wafers. Advantest and Teradyne focus on semiconductor test equipment, so their absence reflects the ranking’s scope—not a decline in company size.

SEMI reports that test-equipment sales rose 55% in 2025, while assembly and packaging equipment grew 21%. AI chips and HBM are expanding demand in back-end production as well as wafer fabrication.
