Maxim Integrated was acquired by Analog Devices (ADI) on August 26, 2021, and is no longer an independent publicly traded company. Its former Nasdaq ticker, MXIM, was delisted. However, Maxim-developed power management ICs, GMSL connectivity, interface products and embedded AI devices continue within ADI’s portfolio.
This article explains Maxim Integrated’s current position, why ADI acquired it, the major former Maxim product families still available today, and ADI’s latest results as of July 2026.

Why Analog Devices Acquired Maxim
ADI was already a leader in high-performance analog semiconductors, while Maxim had strong positions in application-focused power management, automotive systems and data centers. Combining the companies broadened ADI’s ability to cover the signal chain from sensing and conversion to connectivity and power.
- Complementary products: Maxim added application-specific power management expertise.
- Stronger automotive portfolio: GMSL connectivity and battery management supported ADAS and electrification.
- More data-center content: The combination expanded power, monitoring and interface solutions.
- Shared engineering and sales reach: The larger company could offer more complete solutions to a broader customer base.
The all-stock transaction gave Maxim shareholders 0.63 ADI shares for each Maxim share. Trading in MXIM ended after the acquisition closed.
Major Former Maxim Products Available Today
Power and Battery Management
Maxim developed a broad range of DC/DC converters, linear regulators, battery chargers, fuel gauges and supervisory ICs. These devices address efficiency, board area, heat and protection requirements in automotive electronics, industrial equipment, data centers and portable products.
GMSL Automotive Connectivity
GMSL, or Gigabit Multimedia Serial Link, carries high-speed video and control data between cameras, processors and displays. Originally engineered for automotive applications, it is used in advanced driver-assistance systems, surround-view cameras and driver monitoring. ADI continues to sell GMSL devices such as the MAX96717 serializer.

MAX78000 Ultra-Low-Power Edge AI MCU
The MAX78000 combines an Arm Cortex-M4, a RISC-V coprocessor and a convolutional neural network accelerator. It is designed to run image, audio and other inference workloads at the edge without continuously sending raw data to the cloud. ADI lists the device as in production as of July 2026.

Analog, Mixed-Signal and Interface ICs
Data converters, amplifiers, clocks, isolation products and sensor interfaces remain important parts of the portfolio. They measure and condition real-world signals such as temperature, pressure, current and video before passing accurate data to processors.
Markets and Competitors
| Market | Typical applications |
|---|---|
| Industrial | Factory automation, instrumentation, robotics, power and sensors |
| Automotive | ADAS, cameras, electrification and battery management |
| Communications and data centers | Power, optical communications, timing and monitoring |
| Consumer | Wearables, portable devices and healthcare electronics |
Competitors include Texas Instruments, Infineon Technologies, STMicroelectronics, NXP Semiconductors, Microchip Technology and onsemi. The competitive set varies by product category, from power management and automotive links to converters and microcontrollers.
Manufacturing Model
After the integration, ADI uses a hybrid manufacturing model that combines internal factories with external foundries and assembly partners. Its fiscal 2025 annual report says manufacturing activities are primarily located in the United States, Ireland and Southeast Asia. For analog products, long supply life, quality, reliability and stable process technology can matter as much as leading-edge transistor size.
Latest Analog Devices Results
There is no longer separate Maxim revenue or an MXIM share price. ADI’s consolidated results are the relevant measure of the combined business.
| Period | Revenue | Key point |
|---|---|---|
| ADI fiscal 2025 | $11.0197 billion | Up 17% year over year |
| ADI fiscal Q2 2026 | $3.623 billion | Up 37% year over year and record quarterly revenue |
Fiscal Q2 2026 covered the three months ended May 2, 2026. ADI reported record bookings across Industrial, Automotive and Communications, with year-over-year revenue growth in every end market. A single strong quarter should not be treated as a complete long-term trend; investors should also watch inventory cycles, capital spending, automotive demand and geopolitical risks.

Strengths and Risks
| Strengths | Risks and limitations |
|---|---|
| High-performance analog and power management in one portfolio | Industrial and automotive demand cycles affect results |
| Differentiated automotive technology including GMSL | Strong competition across every product category |
| Former Maxim MAX products supported by ADI’s sales network | Maxim’s standalone performance can no longer be separated |
| Exposure to long-life industrial applications | Supply-chain, export-control and geopolitical risks |
Summary
- Analog Devices completed its acquisition of Maxim Integrated in August 2021.
- Nasdaq: MXIM was delisted; the current public company trades as Nasdaq: ADI.
- Former Maxim products including power ICs, GMSL and MAX78000 remain available through ADI.
- ADI generated $11.02 billion in fiscal 2025 revenue and record quarterly revenue in fiscal Q2 2026.
- Current research should use ADI’s product pages and financial reports rather than old standalone Maxim data.
Maxim no longer exists as a separate company, but its technology remains visible across ADI’s power, automotive, industrial and edge AI portfolio.
