Why Renesas Acquired Dialog
Renesas was strong in microcontrollers, SoCs and automotive semiconductors, while Dialog specialized in low-power analog, mixed-signal, wireless connectivity and power management. The combination allowed Renesas to offer embedded systems covering processing, connectivity, power and sensor interfaces.
- IoT connectivity: Bluetooth LE and Wi-Fi complement Renesas MCUs.
- Power management: Battery-operated and automotive designs gain more efficient power solutions.
- Analog expansion: GreenPAK added configurable mixed-signal technology.
- Complete solutions: Computing, analog, power and connectivity can be delivered together.
About 2,300 Dialog employees joined Renesas at closing. The companies also announced 39 “Winning Combinations” pairing their complementary products.
Former Dialog Products Available Today
DA14531 Ultra-Low-Power Bluetooth LE SoC
The DA14531 is a compact Bluetooth 5.1 SoC based on an Arm Cortex-M0+. Its low power consumption and small package target wearables, connected healthcare, smart-home products and disposable sensors. Renesas lists it as Active with product longevity through 2034 as of July 2026.

GreenPAK Configurable Mixed-Signal ICs
GreenPAK devices combine analog blocks, digital logic, timers and power-control functions in a small IC. Engineers configure them with a graphical tool to implement reset supervision, I/O expansion, level shifting and power sequencing while reducing component count and board area.
GreenPAK remains a major Renesas product family. Devices such as the SLG46826 are listed as Active, with variants serving consumer, industrial and automotive applications.

Power and Battery Management
Dialog developed PMICs, charging controllers and AC/DC power-conversion products for smartphones, wearables, IoT equipment and automotive systems. These technologies help reduce size and energy use and can be paired with Renesas microcontrollers and processors.
Markets and Competitors
| Market | Typical applications |
|---|---|
| IoT and consumer | Wearables, smart home and peripherals |
| Industrial | Sensors, controls, power supervision and edge devices |
| Automotive | Power management, in-cabin connectivity and infotainment |
| Healthcare | Compact medical devices and battery-powered sensors |
Competitors include Nordic Semiconductor, NXP Semiconductors, Infineon Technologies, Texas Instruments, STMicroelectronics and Silicon Labs. The competitive set differs across Bluetooth LE, power management and configurable mixed-signal products.
Renesas Fiscal 2025 Results
Dialog no longer reports standalone revenue or a share price. Renesas’ consolidated results show the scale of the current business.
| Non-GAAP item | Fiscal 2025 | Year-over-year |
|---|---|---|
| Revenue | ¥1,318.5 billion | Down 2.2% |
| Automotive revenue | ¥639.7 billion | Down 9.0% |
| Industrial, Infrastructure and IoT revenue | ¥671.8 billion | Up 5.5% |
| Operating profit | ¥386.9 billion | Down 2.8% |
| Operating margin | 29.3% | Down 0.2 points |
Automotive market softness reduced total revenue, while Industrial, Infrastructure and IoT grew on stronger infrastructure demand. Former Dialog connectivity and analog products fit this latter segment, although Renesas does not disclose their revenue separately.
