Global semiconductor manufacturing equipment sales for January-March 2024 were $26.4 billion (approximately 4 trillion yen), down 2% from the same period last year. The reason for the decline in sales is believed to be a slowdown in demand for smartphones and personal computers. Ajit Manocha, president and CEO of SEMI, said, “While global semiconductor manufacturing equipment sales are declining slightly, our industry remains strong and resilient.”
