Thailand’s Scientific Research and Innovation (TSRI) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Singapore’s Infineon Technologies Asia Pacific to strengthen the country’s semiconductor ecosystem.

With the signing of the MoU, the Thai government and Infineon will jointly develop a secure and scalable Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT) platform. The platform aims to establish a more solid digital foundation and accelerate technological development in Thailand and abroad by supporting cybersecurity certifications.
This, in turn, is expected to promote innovative product development and increase Thailand’s technological competitiveness. In addition, we will focus on improving the skills and human resource development of workers in the semiconductor industry, and strengthen educational programs through collaboration with academic institutions.

Infineon, with its strengths in energy-efficient semiconductor technology, is already a major influential company in the Southeast Asian region. The company has established a new semiconductor back-end production base in Samut Prakan in southern Thailand, helping to improve manufacturing capacity in Thailand.
