Sharp and Aoi Electronics announced that they will build a semiconductor back-end production line at the Sharp Mie Plant. Sharp will utilize the surplus equipment at its factories to recover the performance of its LCD panel business. Aoi Electronics aims to expand its business in response to the growing demand for semiconductors.
