🟦NXP’s latest autonomous driving prototype announced

NXP Semiconductors, an automotive semiconductor manufacturer, announced a prototype of its TSMC 5nm process automotive processor. The chip, called S32M, complies with ASIL-D, the highest level of functional safety standard for automobiles. NXP has now launched the S16G processor, which uses a 32nm process, and it is used in various applications. As for the process node, we skipped two generations, 10nm and 7nm, and stepped into adopting 2nm.

🟦 Rapid increase in vehicle data transmission

NXP Semiconductors CEO Kurt Seavers points out that the volume of automotive data transmission is increasing rapidly. In the future, it is said that there is a possibility that nearly 1T (tera) B of data will be generated and sent and received every day per car. Therefore, it is necessary to rethink the data structure and topology of in-vehicle networks. Adopt state-of-the-art processes such as radar and communication gateways to meet vehicle transmission requirements while ensuring vehicle information security and functional safety.
