🟦 Renesas’ Development Center in Ukraine

🟦 Renesas’ development site in Ukraine is open

Renesas Electronics held its “Analyst Day” event. The 200 employees of the company’s R&D center in Ukraine revealed that almost all of them remain in the country to work. CEO Shibata said, “I sincerely hope that peace will return to the world and Ukraine as soon as possible.”

🟦 Somewhat controllable situations

Renesas said that the impact of the Russian invasion of Ukraine on its business performance has not been significant at this time. He said there are three areas of concern: business, R&D, and parts supply. R&D and the supply of materials are in a situation that can be controlled to some extent unless the situation deteriorates further and becomes prolonged. On the business side, we are closely monitoring how it will affect us.

  • Decrease in sales due to
    production trends of business customers
  • R&D Center
    in Ukraine
  • Soaring procurement prices for semiconductor raw materials in the supply surface
    of parts

Raw materials used in semiconductor manufacturing

With more than 90% of neon coming from Ukraine and 35% of palladium from Russia, there are fears of supply chain disruptions if the invasion is prolonged.

🟦 Conclusion

Renesas’ Ukraineno development site is still in operation. No major impact on the invasion at this time

I also sincerely hope that peace will return to the world and Ukraine as soon as possible.
